Mother's Day Gift Ideas 2009
1. Breakfast in Bed - This one is a no brainer. Come on. What mom wouldn't appreciate waking up to the smell of some freshly brewed coffee and her favorite breakfast in bed? Score some extra points by adding a Rose to the presentation (a framed picture of you and the family will go over even better.)
2. Digital Picture with Homemade frame - This one won't cost you much at all but will definitely make an impression. Get your hands on some tongue depressors or Popsicle sticks. Print out your favorite family photo and glue the wooden sticks into a frame around your image. Either decorate it yourself or have your little one(s) (if they are old enough) decorate it too. Get out your markers, paint, glitter and glue right away.
3. Animoto.com - This gift rocks! Log onto www.animoto.com and upload your favorite pix of you and the family. Choose a song and title for your pictures and within minutes the dudes at animoto will produce your own MTV-style video. 30 Second videos are free and longer ones will only cost 3 bucks! Who wouldn't love that!
4. Chalkboard Candle - www.redenvelope.com Surprise mom by candlelight with your message of love written right on the candle itself. Comes with a box of 3 chalk color choices. Candle is made of 100% soy wax.
5. Massage Coupon - This gift is a labor of love. Provide your wife with a home made booklet of massage coupons redeemable anytime she wants. Get creative and who knows maybe she'll massage you back!
6. Photo book from www.shutterfly.com - Chances are you already have an account at shutterfly.com. If you don't, now is the time to get one. Here you can customize your own photo book with text for your mom/wife. Document those special moments in a story form at created by you. This is a gift that will last a life time.
7. Put the little one(s) to bed early and give your wife a chance to unwind in a bubble bath drawn by you. It's all about the atmosphere so make sure you create an environment that will take her breathe away. Add some aromatherapy oil, light some candles, and throw in some framed photos of the kids and some relaxing music. Go the extra mile and add some rose petals to the bath. She'll come out smelling like a rose.
8. Take over diaper duty for the day and let her take the day off. Remember she just might return the favor once Father's Day arrives.
9. Cook her a meal or order take out for the 2 of you once the little one(s) are asleep. Take the time to let her know how much she means to the family. She deserves it.
10. Message in a bottle - Ok. This is not your typical Mother's Day gift but it is something she will definitely talk about. Write a letter and put it in an empty bottle (make sure she can get it out of the bottle.) Decorate the letter with cool, fun graphics to make it look like you found it in the sea (be sure you include how much you love her.) You'll look like you traveled the seas to show her your love.
11. Have photos taken at an old photo machine (like the ones at amusement parks or if you are a Santa Monica local, the Pier.) Be silly. A picture is worth a thousand words.
